Company introduction:
FrieslandCampina is a leading global dairy company based in the Netherlands. Founded in 2008, the company produces a wide range of products, including milk, cheese, butter, yogurt, and infant nutrition, under well-known brands such as Friso, Dutch Lady, and Landliebe, and operates in over 100 countries.
Challenge:
FrieslandCampina hosts many mission-critical applications, including inventory management, production monitoring, supply chain tracking, and sales operations, on AWS. As the organisation’s usage of AWS grows, so does the risk of security breach or attack. Following an internal security audit, the company earmarked several areas for improvement, including backup protection, database patching, and identity and access controls.

Solution and benefits:
As AWS Managed Service provider to FrieslandCampina, Ricoh Cloud Services implemented a series of security enhancements to mitigate risk. The measures included introducing AWS Backup Vault Locks and S3 Bucket Object Locks, integrating Microsoft Azure Active Directory with AWS Identity Center, adding automated reporting of operating system and database user access levels, and more. Working with Ricoh Cloud Services, the company has enhanced its security posture, while maintaining high levels of performance.
