Pittarello

CASE STUDY

Technological innovation improves retail purchasing experience

The Company:

Pittarello is a leading fashion retailer operating in Italy and Germany, selling everything from clothing and accessories to footwear and sporting goods from many leading brands. Having started as a family business, Pittarello has grown significantly over 30 years and now has around 1,100 employees.

Challenge:

Pittarello operates a multi-channel sales strategy, reaching customers through 65 bricks-and-mortar outlets as well as an online presence. Within the physical stores, enabling customers to make seamless payments is crucial to ensure a great experience and to build brand loyalty. However, the IT hardware supporting key payment systems was growing obsolete, increasing the risk of friction when customers purchased goods.

Solution & Benefits:

Working with Ricoh Italy, Pittarello rolled out 186 new PCs across its retail stores to support critical payment systems. The compact touchscreen devices are integrated with docking stations located beneath the till of stores, eliminating the need for complex cabling systems. Simple to use and secure, the solutions ensure customers enjoy a frictionless experience at the checkout, encouraging repeat visits to Pittarello stores.
