Nicola Downing

Chief Executive Officer - Ricoh Europe

Ricoh Europe Board Member

As Chief Executive Officer and Leader of the Ricoh Europe Board, Nicola leads over 14,500 employees in delivering value through 25 Operating Companies (in-country sales offices) and a network of over 3,300 field service engineers across the EMEA region. 

Under Nicola’s leadership, Ricoh Europe is building on its strong legacy in workspace optimisation, digital transformation and print innovation as it helps more than 170,000 customers to grow, enter new markets and retain talent. This direction is based on the company’s ability to lead change that unleashes human potential through the power and opportunity of technology.

In the financial year ended March 2022, Ricoh Europe had revenue of 3,207 million euros.

Prior to being appointed Chief Executive Officer in April 2022, Nicola served as the company’s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. She joined Ricoh in 2005. 

Nicola is a committed blogger, writing regularly on topical subjects such as hybrid working, the future of work, diversity in the workplace and employee wellbeing.

Nicola holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from University College London and is a qualified solicitor. She lives in St Albans, UK, with her husband and son.


David Mills

Chairman - Ricoh Europe

Ricoh Europe Board Member

David is the Chairman of Ricoh Europe. He is responsible for further strengthening Ricoh Europe’s digital services capabilities, drawing on his considerable experience to provide guidance and consultancy to Ricoh Europe’s management team. He joined the Ricoh Group in 2008, having held several senior roles within the industry, including President of European operations at IKON. He then became the Managing Director of Ricoh UK, before joining the Ricoh Europe Board as Executive Vice President, and then Chief Operating Officer. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Ricoh Europe from 2014 to 2022. David holds a BA (Hons) degree in Economics from the University of Hull. He lives with his wife in Oxted, Surrey in the UK. He has two sons and three granddaughters.

Tim Stuart

Chief Financial Officer - Ricoh Europe

Ricoh Europe Board Member 

Tim is the Chief Financial Officer at Ricoh Europe and member of the Board. He is responsible for Finance, Tax, Treasury and Ricoh Capital, the EMEA leasing business. Tim joined Ricoh in September 2016 having previously held senior finance positions at two FTSE 100 listed companies (Informa Plc and Whitbread Plc). Prior to that, he spent 13 years in audit practice, with 10 years at KPMG. Tim qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Baker Tilly. Tim holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mathematics from the University of Reading. Tim’s hobbies include football and golf. He lives with his wife in the Chilterns.

Caroline Bright

Senior Vice President, Marketing - Ricoh Europe

Caroline is the Senior Vice President of Marketing at Ricoh Europe. She is responsible for driving Ricoh Europe’s customer first approach and ensuring that EMEA Marketing adds commercial value for the region. 

Caroline joined Ricoh Europe in 2019, bringing with her over 20 years’ B2B experience and a strong track record in helping businesses transform marketing into a strategic growth function. Caroline has held multiple senior commercial roles including General Management positions, and previously worked as a global CMO where she managed a large-scale global marketing transformation. She has also served as a senior management consultant advising CMOs and marketing leaders across different B2B industries on marketing strategy, transformation, organisational design and how to drive impact.  

Caroline holds an MBA (Distinction) from Warwick Business School and a BA (Hons) degree in Politics from the University of York. She lives with her husband and two sons just outside London.


Chris Hopton

Senior Vice President, Sales - Ricoh Europe

Chris is the Senior Vice President of Sales at Ricoh Europe. He is responsible for driving the sales teams across both our Partner channel and direct teams within the EMEA region. Chris has responsibility for both the Office Printing sales and the Digital Services organic sales across EMEA. 

Chris joined Ricoh Europe in 2017, bringing with him over 15 years’ B2B experience and a strong track record in transforming sales teams. He has held multiple senior commercial roles within Ricoh Europe driving sales transformation and providing profitable growth. Before joining Ricoh, Chris worked in a 12 year career from graduate trainee to Board member at the Danwood Group before the successful sales of the business. Chris has a passion for people development and creating sales environments where everyone can succeed.  

Chris holds a MA (Hons) degree in Management from the University of Hull. He lives with his wife and two sons in Yorkshire, UK.


Alberto Mariani

Alberto Mariani

Senior Vice President, Office Services - Ricoh Europe

Alberto is the Senior Vice President of Office Services at Ricoh Europe. He is responsible for the development and promotion of services and solutions that support customers with their digital transformation journeys. He leads the development of the Office Services business unit for Ricoh Europe in EMEA and oversees all business unit operations. Alberto is also tasked with managing the business unit profit and loss statements in line with business plans and budgets to achieve financials goals, growth in revenues and operating income.

He joined the Ricoh Group in 2003, holding positions in Product Management, Business Development and Channel Marketing during his time at Ricoh Italy. He joined Ricoh Europe in 2012 as Director of IT Services before moving to his current position in 2018. 

Alberto holds a BA (Hons) degree in Marketing and Communications from ISC University, Milan. He lives with his wife and two sons in Pavia in Italy.


Tina Smith

Tina Smith

Senior Vice President, Corporate Services - Ricoh Europe

Tina is the Senior Vice President of Corporate Services at Ricoh Europe. She is responsible for the company’s business support functions across 23 Ricoh subsidiaries in the EMEA region. Her remit includes IT, shared services, process governance, legal and procurement, as well as responsibility for strategic areas such as pensions and facilities at the Ricoh Europe Head Office. She holds positions on a number of Boards across the Ricoh Group. Tina joined the Ricoh Group in 2006 as a lawyer before being promoted to Regional Legal Director, Group Legal Director and most recently Vice President EMEA Legal. Prior to Ricoh she was a commercial lawyer for British Airways. Tina holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from King’s College, University of London and is also an alumni of the University of Cambridge. She currently resides in North London, where she lives with her husband and two sons.

Eef de Ridder

Vice President, Graphic Communications Group - Ricoh Europe

Eef is the Vice President of the Graphic Communications Group for Ricoh Europe. He is responsible for all Ricoh production printing solutions sold in the Graphic Arts and Corporate/Enterprise market.

Eef joined Ricoh in 2008 as Vice President Commercial Print Industry and was responsible for the development and operational implementation of the sales and marketing strategy of the Ricoh Commercial Printing portfolio in the Graphic Arts market in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Prior to that he ran Knighthood, his own sales and marketing consultancy company, which he established after more than 20 years with Xerox. For Xerox he held a number of national and international (senior) management positions primarily in sales and marketing.

Eef is a graduate of Inholland University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands and currently resides in Amsterdam.
