Company:
As one of the fastest growing economies in West Africa, Senegal has seen rapid urbanisation in recent years, leading to rising demand for essential services. Utility company SEN’EAU plays a critical role in national development, distributing clean drinking water to more than 860,000 people in urban and peri-urban areas.
Challenge:
To produce bi-monthly water bills, SEN’EAU previously used 36 small printers stationed at its Dakar headquarters and in local offices across Senegal. As customer numbers increased, print runs were taking longer to complete, while the company was consuming toner supplies very quickly. There was limited time to perform essential maintenance, and the quality of the output was often low, with blurred text on some bills.

Solution & Benefits:
SEN’EAU worked with Ricoh business partner CFAO to implement six high end sheetfed Ricoh Pro 8300s solutions, with top of the range Ricoh IM 7000 multifunction printers. With the Ricoh solutions, the company has increased its printing capacity and developed a more efficient process for creating bills for its growing customer base, without the risk of delays or quality issues, such as blurred, misaligned, and faint text.

“With Ricoh, we have made a strategic investment in our future. With increased print speed, performance, and reliability, we can move forward with confidence, knowing that we can cope with the pressure that will come from increasing urbanisation in Senegal. From the first consultation, our work with CFAO and Ricoh has been a great success, and we look forward to the next stage in our partnership.”
