Defense against ransomware: the piece to complete the security puzzle
Company:
Founded in 1893 in Costa Masnaga (Lecco), Limonta specialises in the creation and production of ecological fabrics and leathers and their finishing, becoming a point of reference for Made in Italy - both nationally and internationally - in the fashion, furnishing and automotive sectors.
Challenge:
The company had already implemented several systems covering multiple areas of cybersecurity, but lacked a specific solution for protection against ransomware, an increasingly widespread threat.
Solution & Benefits:
In order to respond to Limonta's needs in an effective and timely manner, Ricoh Italy professionals carried out a comprehensive test of RICOH RansomCare directly in the company's environment, dropping the solution into the specific context. A virtual machine was then created and a ransomware attack simulated. As everything worked properly, the software was installed on the real machine and the situation was monitored for about three months. Once the tuning process was over, the project was extended to all the technologies involved.
The solution immediately proved to be a key ally in IT security management, providing benefits in terms of:
