Company introduction:
Leipzig International School (LIS) is an independent, non-profit co-educational school in Germany. With over 1,000 students of all ages and around 200 teachers and administrative staff, the school focuses on academic as well as personal growth. LIS offers widely recognised qualifications such as the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
Challenge:
To develop a more stimulating learning experience, LIS looked to replace ageing whiteboards and projectors with cutting-edge technologies. One regular complaint from teachers was the limited image and sound quality of existing equipment, which made it difficult for students to absorb content. The school wanted a solution that would improve student engagement and enable more innovative lessons.
Solution and benefits:
After evaluating offerings from multiple edtech vendors, LIS selected Ricoh A6000 Interactive Whiteboards. To minimise disruption, Ricoh installed 21 interactive whiteboards over two weeks during the school holidays. The solutions feature powerful built-in speakers and enable teachers to incorporate video content into lessons, as well as sharing their laptop or tablet screen. The introduction of the interactive whiteboards has transformed the learning experience at LIS, enabling more dynamic, innovative, and stimulating lessons.
“We want to break down barriers to learning and ensure every student feels engaged and participates fully in lessons. The whiteboard screens are sharp and easy-to-read even for students with visual impairments. And being able to have two or three students work on a single whiteboard at the same time increases engagement during lessons.”
