Company introduction:
Based in Trondheim, Norway, leading construction contractor Hent plans and delivers large-scale projects across the Nordic region. Among the company’s work was the Mjøstårnet tower in Brumunddal, Norway, the tallest wooden building in the world at the time of completion in 2019.
Challenge:
Every construction project relies on printed documentation—from health and safety guidelines and progress reports, to quality checks and risk assessments. But purchasing and implementing physical print infrastructure for each project office was a costly, time-consuming process for Hent, and users often faced issues when trying to connect to devices. With many new projects on the horizon, the company looked for a more agile, lightweight print strategy that would make life easier for users and reduce operational costs.
Solution and benefits:
Hent selected RICOH Smart Integration (RSI) Control+ to streamline print operations at its project offices. The solution enables the company to adopt a cloud print management model that eliminates the need for traditional server infrastructure. Users can print documents directly from their laptop, smartphone, or tablet, without the hassle of connecting to the local network. Meanwhile, administrators can pull reports on print volumes and paper and toner consumption, enabling accurate cost tracking for each construction project.
“Working with Ricoh has been a very positive experience from the start. The RSI Control+ solution sets us up very well for the future, and will help our users create critical documentation as we launch more construction projects across Norway and beyond. We are now exploring the potential of moving to a full print-as-a-service model, and we know that Ricoh will be on hand to help once again.”
