Leading manufacturer strengthens document security and optimises costs by modernising print
The Company:
Established in 2018, Cleopatra Cement is a leading producer of white cement for use in the construction of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Based in Egypt, the company produces 420,000 tonnes of cement each year at the El Minya plant, and delivers products to a global customer base.
Challenge:
To support printing, Cleopatra Cement previously used a mix of shared multifunction and single-function devices, from multiple vendors. Tracking printing volumes and paper consumption proved difficult, while sourcing consumables for so many brands and models was time-consuming and expensive. To simplify managementand optimise costs, the company looked to increase control and visibility over printing.
Solution & Benefits:
Working with Ricoh partner Silicon21, Cleopatra Cement replaced the older devices with all-in-one Ricoh printers, reducing the size of the fleet by 70% and cutting management workloads and energy consumption. In addition, the company implemented cloud-based fleet management software to monitor and track printing, enforce more efficient print policies, and improve document security, with robust user authentication protocols.
The switch to a one-vendor solution also simplifies procurement of consumables and spare parts, saving time for the Cleopatra Cement IT team. And with increased control and visibility over printing, the company has reduced waste and paper consumption, and cut overall printing costs by 25%.
