Company:
Accademia Costume & Moda (ACM) is one of the world’s leading educational institutions in the fields of fashion and costume design. Founded in Rome in 1964, ACM trains designers, costume designers, creative directors and professionals in communication and the fashion ecosystem who are capable of making a real impact in the international creative industries.
Today, ACM has approximately 600 students across its Rome and Milan campuses and collaborates with over 160 companies in the fashion supply chain and fashion houses, offering a professional training programme.
Challenge:
In a highly specialised educational context, such as Accademia Costume & Moda, teaching quality is paramount, particularly when balancing theory with practical demonstrations.
The main challenge was adapting content delivery to a new paradigm: larger, more structured spaces where students needed to follow both practical and theoretical explanations simultaneously. It was also essential to ensure everyone could see and hear clearly, regardless of their position.
Solution & Benefits:
Having a long-standing relationship with Ricoh, ACM sought a strategic partner who could successfully interpret these constantly evolving needs.
Ricoh designed and built the new premises of the former Magazzini allo Statuto MAS headquarters in Rome, integrating an end-to-end digital classroom solution:
- Audio-video systems in all classrooms and laboratories
- Cameras capable of filming practical lessons and transmitting them to screens distributed evenly throughout the classrooms and laboratories
- A large LED wall in the entrance hall, which loops highlights of academic activities
- Each floor is equipped with 55" screens which, interfacing with dedicated teaching management software, display the daily schedule
“‘Ricoh's value lies in its ability to combine cutting-edge technological expertise with a deep understanding of our organisation and its specific needs.’”

Managing Director of Accademia Costume & Moda
