| | | | Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is an XML-based format for content distribution. RSS feeds bring automatically updated information straight to your desktop. Below, Ricoh offers several RSS feeds with headlines, descriptions and links back to Ricoh website for the full story. You can monitor news about Ricoh, new products or other feeds which you can identify by a small button that says either RSS. However, if you click one of these links, you will most likely get a page full of code in your browser. To properly read the feed, you need an RSS reader. Here's how to get and use one. |

Two basic varieties of newsreaders exist. Most are standalone applications that run in the background on your desktop automatically updating headlines regularly with newsfeeds from your subscribed Web sites and blogs. In this category, we recommand Awasu, FeedDemon, and RSSReader. These are three popular standalone readers that offer free trials and paid premium versions.
A second group of newsreaders plugs in to applications already running on your PC. For instance, NewsGator works with Microsoft Outlook, populating Inbox folders with headlines from subscribed channels. Pluck, on the other hand, works with Internet Explorer. Most of the readers automatically remove old news items after a preset number of days. One complaint: When using the standalone apps' built-in Web browsers, pop-up windows, which are normally turned off in Internet Explorer, returned. This was not a problem, however, with Pluck or NewsGator, both of which use your default Internet Explorer to display full stories. By using this software or website, you participate at your own accord. Ricoh only suggests these readers but does not guarantee their performance. Please contact the respective distributors for more information.
