Ricoh environmental facts
1. In fiscal 2001, the Ricoh Group achieved Zero-Waste-to-Landfill at its major global production sites.
2. In 2002 Ricoh was ranked first in the world for corporate responsibility rating by Oekom Research AG of Germany.
3. In 2003 Ricoh received the prestigious WEC Gold Medal from the World Environment Center, the first company from the Asian region to honoured.
4. Ricoh has been named as one of the "Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World for four consecutive years.
5. Ricoh was the first company in the industry to use plant-based plastic for the bodies of copiers with the imagio Neo 602ec/752ec. The plastic is also used for some of the paper trays in the popular colour copier, imagio MPC1500.
6. Ricoh research and development labs have successfully developed a toner containing about 40% of plant-based elements by using a newly developed polyester resin made from corn and other materials.
