The Ricoh Group announces success at drupa 2008

London, Ricoh Europe PLC, June 2008 -- The Ricoh Group attended drupa for the first time in 2008 to demonstrate its commitment to the production printing market and its leading technological expertise for commercial and corporate printing customers.

“drupa 2008, our first, has been a great success for the Ricoh Group helping us towards our goal to become a leading force in production printing. We have met with visitors from a truly international audience who confirmed their confidence in Ricoh´s production printing solutions. The number of new-orders taken exceeded our targets and we are looking forward to building upon our success from the show and to seeing everybody again in 2012”, says Graham Moore, Director Production Printing, Ricoh Europe PLC.

Just a few hours after the show opened on 29 May 2008, Ricoh received Europe’s first signature for the Pro™C900 from Integrated Graphics Limited, UK. The pioneering, digital printing company already has a history of adopting the latest technology, when it invested in its first digital printing equipment, some 14 years ago. Today they have a successful business focusing on providing small and large format exhibition materials.

Wynford Phillips, Director at Integrated Graphics Ltd said: “We are impressed with the image quality, media handling of different paper types, registration accuracy and of course, the constant 90 ppm print speed.”

Mr. Andreas Kallen of Hans Hoepfner Büromaschinen GmbH, a dealer and commercial print service provider, based in Köln, was the first business in Germany to sign for the Ricoh Pro™C900.

Ricoh successfully launched its new production printing range including, the Ricoh Pro™C900, Pro™906EX, 1106EX and 1356EX and the Aficio™MP W7140. It also demonstrated a range of best-in-class, production printing workflows including, web-to-print, personalised printing and transactional printing.

The Ricoh Pro™C900 is a complete workflow solution for colour production printing. As the flagship of Ricoh’s new Pro™ line, it stands out from the competition with its high-speed, durability and the wide range of configurations for fully automated finishing. This high-duty engine is capable of printing 90 colour pages per minute (ppm) and has a remarkable paper capacity of 11,000 sheets.

The Pro™906EX, 1106EX and 1356EX are three multifunctional black-and-white production printing devices in the new Ricoh Pro™ line.  Built to accelerate the production workflow at an optimal Total Cost of Ownership.

The Ricoh Aficio™MP W7140 is Ricoh’s new wide-format, black-and-white multifunctional, printing up to fourteen A1 and seven A0 pages per minute (ppm). A detachable colour scanner ensures the easy digital distribution of documents.  Highly reliable, the device is ideal for Print-for-Pay (PFP) environments and Central Reprographic Departments (CRDs) at large manufacturers.
Moore says: “The feedback and the interest we received endorses the view that the efficient and productive solutions from the Ricoh Group mark the next generation in production printing and we look forward to supplying our solutions to our customers.”
