Planning the integration starts with immediate effect. Uwe-Jens Nonnsen, Managing Director of NRG Deutschland GmbH will lead the new organisation and is appointed joint Managing Director of Ricoh Deutschland GmbH, sharing operational responsibility with Yutaka Miura, Managing Director of Ricoh Deutschland GmbH throughout the intended integration process. Upon completion of the integration it is intended to locate the head office for the new united German organisation in Hannover.
Simon Sasaki, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ricoh Europe PLC stated: “The intended integration will streamline the two Ricoh Family Group members by combining previously separate functions. The combined strengths and resources will allow for building the ‘New Ricoh’ resulting in even swifter responsiveness to address customers’ needs”.
“Our strategy is clear. A single management structure will allow us to leverage our resources effectively and efficiently for continual improvement. Harmonisation will help us to further expand our position as a partner working closely with our customers to provide solutions, services and products”, said Steve Saito, President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Ricoh Europe, PLC.
In future direct business will be conducted under the Ricoh brand only. The established brands of Nashuatec, Rex Rotary and Gestetner will be maintained through the indirect channel. Once the integration is finalised the company name NRG will be discontinued.
Both Uwe-Jens Nonnsen and Yutaka Miura are looking forward to taking up their new role: “It is our intention to build an even stronger ‘new Ricoh’, to integrate the two operations as swiftly and with as little bureaucracy as possible to ensure a modern and effective complete customer orientation. We shall continue to further strengthen and develop our direct and indirect ‘multi sales channel strategy’ that has been extremely successful over the years.”
