Professionals in the Arena

Amstelveen, 23 March 2006 — Today Ricoh Europe B.V. announced its event “Professionals in the Arena.” From April 4th till 6th the Ricoh Arena in Coventry (UK), is the backdrop for the Ricoh’s pan-European Production Print Event. Under the motto “Professionals in the Arena” Ricoh Europe demonstrates its capabilities in high-end production. Integrated solutions for Data-centre printing, CRD-environments, as well as for Commercial and Quick printing will be displayed. Establishing Ricoh Printing Systems (formerly Hitachi Printing Systems) has contributed considerably to the Ricoh’s awareness in the high-end print production market.

Ricoh’s solutions are shown in the form of 4 concepts/corners that embody hardware, software, applications, 3rd party solutions and document-flows. Positioned as an open house, emphasis is on integrated workflows for professional customers. 4 specifically chosen areas predominantly highlight the companies’ offers. These areas represent workflow solutions for corporate production including high volume; in-house data centres, quick-printers and commercial printing.
Aimed at discerning end-users, intermediaries and media representatives “Professionals in the Arena” is the first thematic event Ricoh is organising on a large scale.

In recent years Ricoh has gained wide experience in the high volume market. With the introduction of its 85ppm and 105 ppm models 6 years ago Ricoh was the major contributor in the digitisation of the high-volume segment. Since then, Ricoh has become market leader in the light and mid production market, with a 35% market share (source: Infosource).

Entry into the high-end printing market was assured by the acquisition of Hitachi Printing Systems, two years ago. In the meantime Ricoh’s portfolio has expanded to completeness that caters to needs of the most demanding customers.

Document management systems can easily be paired to software solutions such as Equitrac, doc-Q-manager, MicroPress, IDPS etc. and other applications, thus covering the widest possible spectrum.

Opened in 2005, the Ricoh Arena in Coventry is the location where the open house will be held. Its close proximity to Birmingham International Airport make the Arena the perfect setting to welcome visitors from all over the EMEA-region.
