| | | Priport™DX 3240/DX 3440 – High Speed, Low Cost Printing Solution for Educational Environments |
| Amstelveen, The Netherlands, July 2006 -- Ricoh Europe B.V. today announced the launch of its new digital duplicators, the Priport™DX 3240/DX 3440. With their A3 and book scanning capability and additional attractive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), these high speed printers are specifically targeting educational institutions. Delivering high quality output in 300 x 400 dpi fine mode resolution, the DX 3240/DX 3440 answer the need for high speed, in house production of a wide range of materials. |
The Priport™DX 3240/DX 3440 offer a new A3 size book scanner, which makes these models rise above the competition. This feature enables users to scan two A4 sides at once, saving them valuable time. High quality documents, such as newsletters, handouts, leaflets and forms, are created quickly and efficiently. The fine mode scanning and printing resolution is increased to 300 x 400 dpi, making it hard for the competition to match the result delivered by the DX 3240/DX 3440. To save users in educational institutions time, class mode, in combination with the optional tape dispenser, generates printed material in class sized batches, ready for immediate distribution. Scanning books without having the binding margin and black edges on the prints is done automatically via the Auto Centre/Edge Erase mode. To complete the user friendliness, the LCD shows possible jam locations by means of an image on the display. The new A4 DX 3240 and B4 DX 3440 provide controllable running costs for sustained high volume output. The more prints are made from one original, the lower the cost per print. The user code feature helps users stay in control of their organisation’s print output by monitoring the usage per department for easy cost allocation. Further cost saving is available with economy mode, which allows users to obtain more output from each ink cartridge. “The DX 3240 and DX 3440 technology sets Ricoh aside from the competition. Schools, for instance, are often working with thin or low quality paper; with our Retry Paper Feeding feature misfeeds are automatically detected and manual intervention is minimised,” observes Manabu Ogihara, Product Manager at Ricoh Europe’s Marketing Group. “We are also proud to be able to offer the optional Ricoh VC-20 Printer Controller. Print jobs can now be sent directly from a Windows PC, without having to scan the original first.” The Priport™DX 3240/DX 3440 are the latest additions to Ricoh's digital duplicator selection. Ricoh currently manufactures one of the world's most extensive line ups of copiers, printers, scanners, faxes and multifunctional devices, as well as advanced software solutions.
