Priport™DX 4542 – Excellent Print Quality & Economy

Amstelveen, The Netherlands, July 2006 -- Ricoh Europe B.V. today announced the extension of its digital duplicator range with the Priport™DX 4542. Experts when it comes to handling high volume duplication jobs, Priport™ digital duplicators offer users rapid, reliable and cost efficient printing. With 120 pages per minute and 400 dpi printing, the Priport™DX 4542 is mainly aimed at public services such as healthcare, fire, police and education. With its intuitive LCD control panel and easy maintenance, this digital duplicator helps satisfy the needs of these public services looking to produce professional looking documents cost effectively.

From the introduction of digital duplicating onwards, the considerable advantages in cost, speed and reliability have led to general acceptance in many industries and organisations. While keeping tight control over costs and saving the trouble of outsourcing, users can easily obtain professional looking print output. The DX 4542’s innovative high quality system combines advanced master and ink technology with automatic pressure control to balance ink density on every page.

Crisp, flawless text, smooth half tones, photographic images and superior solid fills are the result. Quality and accuracy can be further enhanced with direct digital imaging of the master from a PC using the optional print controller.

With the majority of the workload in public service environments consisting of single sheet document printing tasks, users are in need of versatile equipment. The DX 4542 rapidly prints large quantities of tickets, labels, cards, coupons and envelopes on both standard sheets and pre-cut templates, including posters up to A3 size. Via the optional colour drum units, the impact of colour can be added as well.

While delivering precise and versatile printing, the DX 4542 also reduces the user’s operational costs. For everyday printing, there is an Economy mode that reduces ink costs by up to 15%, and a 2-up format that saves time and paper by allowing users to assemble separate pages into single documents, like exam papers. The DX 4542’s built-in user codes allocate charges to staff and public users, facilitating cost recovery.

“We know that internal and external documents in public services such as healthcare, fire, police and education are highly visible and receive constant attention. The Priport™DX 4542 has been designed to fulfil this challenge by delivering the highest quality with the best possible economy,” explains Manabu Ogihara, Product Manager at Ricoh Europe’s Marketing Group. “The DX 4542 takes imaging to new levels while being amazingly effective at reducing the user’s Total Cost of Ownership.”

The Priport™DX 4542 is the latest addition to Ricoh's digital duplicator selection. Ricoh currently manufactures one of the world's most extensive line ups of copiers, printers, scanners, faxes and multifunctional devices, as well as advanced software solutions.
