Aficio™BP20/BP20N – Economical Business Laser Printer for Professional Quality Prints

Amstelveen, the Netherlands, October 2005 -- Ricoh Europe B.V. today announced the introduction of its Aficio™BP20/BP20N black and white laser printers. Aimed at SOHO environments and small to medium sized workgroups, these printers offer quality black and white documents at high speed. The BP20 is introduced as basic model while the BP20N offers standard networking for shared use. Both units combine high print quality with easy operation and simple maintenance.

The Aficio™BP20/BP20N offer true 1,200 x 1,200 dpi print quality at 20 ppm. With less than 40 seconds warm up time and the first print ready in 10 seconds, users obtain a quick start. The system’s small overall footprint means it sits discretely on an office desk or anywhere the user sees fit.

The Aficio™BP20/BP20N provide flexible paper handling from B6/A5 to A4 paper size. Envelopes, labels, transparencies, cards and other custom sized materials can be processed using the bypass tray. For additional needs, the standard paper input capacity of 250 sheets can be upgraded to 500 sheets.

To enhance output effectiveness, users can add customisable watermarks or use Poster Print for oversized prints. The units also support multiple page printing, an efficient means to print multiple slides of e.g. a presentation on the same page.

Lavesh Lakhina, Product Manager at Ricoh Europe B.V. is impressed with the models: “The Aficio™BP20/BP20N are interesting new members of our laser printer portfolio. Even though they are remarkably compact, they are true ‘all-rounders’, offering users in small of home offices quality black and white output at high speed. Combine this with the systems’ low cost of ownership, and you obtain ideal office companions.”

With regards to connectivity, both systems incorporate a USB 2.0 interface and parallel port. Networking is standard on the Aficio™BP20N with an Ethernet interface. Software tools such as Status Monitor and Embedded Web Server allow users to easily monitor the device and change printer settings via a common web browser.

Examples of Ricoh’s commitment to the environment, the Aficio™BP20/BP20N come with an all-in-one cartridge made from ecologically friendly material. In addition, power consumption is low and all machine parts are easily recyclable.

The Aficio™BP20/BP20N are the latest additions to Ricoh’s new generation business laser printers. Ricoh currently manufactures one of the most extensive line ups of copiers, printers, scanners, faxes and multifunctional devices, as well as advanced software solutions.
