Ricoh Sponsors ATP Tournaments

Amstelveen, the Netherlands, March 31st 2005 -- Ricoh Europe B.V. has signed a sponsorship agreement with the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals). The new partnership designates Ricoh as the “Official Office Solutions Provider” of the ATP, to advance the latter’s statistical analyses and services. In relation to provision of office solutions, Ricoh will sponsor a series of European tennis tournaments. The partnership further entails a major television broadcast package.

Under the agreement, Ricoh is "Official Office Solutions Provider of the ATP" and will receive prominent exposure in all ATP communication platforms; especially in the popular and widely quoted ATP statistical charts. The charts are renamed into the "Ricoh ATP Match Facts" and provide a deeper statistical analysis to media and tennis fans worldwide.

In the European region, Ricoh supports the ATP Masters tournaments in Monte Carlo (April 11th - 17th), Rome (May, 2nd - 8th), Hamburg (May 9th - 15th), Madrid (October, 17th - 23rd) and Paris (October 31st - November 6th) as well as the “Queens” grass court tournament of London (June, 6th - 12th). As part of the agreement Ricoh has also adopted the presentation of the annual ATP’s Fan’s Favourite Award.

Peter Van der Kaag, General Manager, Corporate Communications, Ricoh Europe B.V., said: "Expanding our sponsorships with tennis was a logical choice. The popularity of the sport and its appeal to our target audiences offer a perfect stage for our business. Moreover, the ATP tennis sponsorship fits perfectly in our “environmental” sponsoring policy. We look forward to developing our relationship with the ATP over a long and successful partnership."

"On behalf of all the players, I would like to welcome new partner Ricoh to our tennis family," said ATP Player Council President, Rainer Schuettler. "We think this is the beginning of an exciting partnership and we look forward to building a strong connection between us (ATP), our fans and Ricoh."

ATP Properties Chief Executive Officer, Richard Davies said: "Ricoh has established itself as an internationally recognised industry leader and we are excited to count this world class brand as a partner of ATP tennis.”

Ricoh's partnership with the ATP marks its largest foray into the sport and adds to the marketing momentum generated by ATP Properties in 2004 when it added a significant worldwide partnership with the INDESIT company, sponsor of the INDESIT ATP Race, to its roster of partners led by Mercedes-Benz and other leading brands including Lotto Sport Italia, Club Med, Waterford Crystal, Penn, Luxilon and Skies America Publishing.
