| | Amstelveen, The Netherlands, March 2005 -- Today, the Ricoh Family Group (RFG) in Europe announced its intention to integrate the European Lanier operations into the Ricoh and NRG Group companies from April 2005 onwards. The intended integration applies to the Lanier operating companies in Austria, Belgium, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom, the Lanier European headquarters and its independent distributor operations. Lanier Switzerland will continue to operate as a subsidiary of Ricoh Europe B.V. |
The RFG in Europe is leader in the office copier market and has now achieved the number 1 market share for 8 consecutive years. While achieving this leading position, the RFG is and has to be ready and able to respond to the competitive landscape.
The proposed plan will see the Lanier operating companies in Italy and Spain integrated into the respective Ricoh companies. The Lanier operating companies in Austria, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom are to be integrated into the NRG companies in the respective countries. Prior to and during the entire integration process work councils, unions and employee representatives will be consulted in accordance with the local and legal requirements. The integration process is expected to be completed during Ricoh’s next financial year ending on the 31 March, 2006.
