With an eye to minimising wear and tear in demanding environments, Ricoh has designed the Aficio™AP410/AP410N to be solid, sturdy and foolproof. Built for a maximum duty cycle of no less than 150,000 sheets a month, the Aficio™AP410/AP410N have a warm up time of under 19 seconds, first print speed of 7.5 seconds and continuous output of 27 sheets a minute. Duplex printing is available at the same high speed.
Four trays offer a total paper capacity of 1,600 sheets. A duplex unit and envelope feeder are among many options. Power consumption is a modest 820 W and only 7.5 W in energy saver mode. The AP410N is network ready and comes with a higher memory capacity and slightly faster processor than the base model AP410.
The units support all main connection protocols, from a standard parallel interface to FireWire (IEEE 1394), Wireless LAN (IEEE802.11b) and Bluetooth. The bundled software suite is easy to use. Both units come with DeskTopBinder™ Lite to merge different formats into the one file. Web Image Monitor and SmartDeviceMonitor™ allow full monitoring features of networked peripherals through common web browsers. Network administrators can set user privileges and create instant job statistics. For remote troubleshooting and management there is a web server installed. The optional Hard Disk Drive includes LockedPrint™ and SamplePrint™. The first feature allows secure printing with release of prints upon entering a password at the control panel. SamplePrint™ allows users to avoid misprints.
Valerie Croese, product manager at Ricoh Europe says: “The Aficio™AP410/AP410N are productive and cost effective units for the average office. They have been designed for really hard work, at high reliability. In addition, they have a wide range of very productive extras. For instance, a Java™ Platform compatible software development platform enables the development of customised applications. Of course the systems have been designed with the environment in mind.”
The Aficio™AP410/AP410N are the latest additions to Ricoh's range of printers. The company currently manufactures one of the world's most extensive line-ups of copiers, printers, scanners, faxes and multifunctional devices, as well as advanced software solutions.
