| | | Ricoh Announces Introduction of the Aficio™3224C/3232C – The Colour Capable Benchmark Model for Small and Medium Sized Workgroups |
| Amstelveen, the Netherlands, April 2005 -- Ricoh Europe B.V. today announced the arrival of the new colour capable Aficio™3224C/3232C MFPs designed for small and medium sized workgroups. These multifunctional, compact and competitively priced units are extremely easy to use, offer colour scanning, printing and optional fax capabilities and cost little more than an equivalent B/W machine. Finishing options are extensive and the machines have been designed for easy upgrade. |
Over recent time, Ricoh has been progressing the concept of colour capability in its range of MFPs – the ability to produce colour, but not all the time, only when needed. This frequency varies widely by user and the Aficio™3224C/3232C series seeks to answer the needs of users who have only a ‘relatively modest’ need for colour. It is thus being profiled as a client’s ideal first or ‘discovery’ colour capable unit.
With print, copy and scan standard and fax on option, the units offer touch screen operation, a full functional network control, true digital copy functions and speedy automatic duplex. Colour network scanning and via LDAP adds to ‘scan once, copy many’ to provide a full scan capability. Document distribution and sharing take place without delivery server or unique software. The Windows® network login infrastructure and HDD data protection offer solid security protection. The wide range of fax features (including Internet fax, forwarding inbound faxes to folder, IP fax and LAN fax to e-mail) raises communications functionality and reduces time at the machine. Control at distance is further raised by a web based device and document management facility. “Following on the company’s traditional environmental emphasis,” says Ricoh Product Manager Martine Straver, “the units fully comply with the EU’s RoHS* directive. They use no sensitive materials such as lead, cadmium or PVC, are minimal utility and power users, and are very environment friendly.” The company expects pricing in most markets to be clearly below category average. The Aficio™3224C/3232C MFPs are the latest colour capable starter units in Ricoh’s range of true MFPs with colour capability. They reinforce Ricoh’s current status as manufacturer of one of the world's most extensive and price conscious line-ups of copiers, printers, scanners, faxes and multifunctional devices, as well as advanced software solutions. * RoHS: Restriction of Hazardous Substances, effective from July 2006.
