Ricoh’s FAX3310Le - Secure and Efficient Plain Paper Faxing for Smaller Workgroups

Amstelveen, The Netherlands, February 2005 -- Ricoh Europe B.V. today announced the introduction of the company’s new FAX3310Le with optional scan and print capability. With faxing a key function in many business environments, Ricoh’s FAX3310Le offers fast and reliable communication for small groups. Specifics include intuitive operation and robust memory capacity. Easy upgrading to a powerful network printer and scanner is possible. By also offering controlled accessibility, multitasking and top security, this clever desktop model will make a clear mark on professional plain paper faxing.

The FAX3310Le desktop unit is compact, economical (using less than 1.5 W in standby) and easily positioned. Standard paper capacity is a useful 250 A4 sheets, with a maximum of 850, and the Automatic Document Feeder takes up to 50 sheets. The unit offers 12 hour memory backup with a memory capacity of 6 MB (480 pages) upgradeable to 40 MB (1,500 pages).

An easy to use, intuitive operating panel and programmable function keys make use straightforward. With 30 quick dials and 100 speed dials, capabilities are generous. The machine status is easily read from an indicator on the control panel. A major user benefit in busy conditions is the simultaneous fax receipt while printing.

The FAX3310Le can be easily upgraded with a 600 dpi resolution printer module. Print speed is 15 pages per minute while scan speed is 3 seconds for a standard A4 page. The SmartDeviceMonitor™ software means convenient printer monitoring from network PCs.

Security has been given high priority on the FAX3310Le. Usage monitoring, confidentiality protection and controlled access are all conveniently handled. Personal authorisation codes for users can be applied if required. With a backup protecting all documents in memory, the risk of information loss in the event of a power failure is virtually eliminated.

In addition, Maaike Gilling, product manager at Ricoh Europe, mentions the environmental aspects for the new fax: “Even though the FAX3310Le is a high featured unit, it was designed with our zero waste policy and low power consumption targets in mind. It uses less than 1.5 W in stand-by mode.”

The FAX3310Le is the latest addition to Ricoh’s impressive fax line-up further extending the company’s low to mid fax range. Ricoh currently manufactures one of the world’s most extensive selections of copiers, printers, faxes and multifunctional devices and advanced software solutions.
