| | | Ricoh’s New FAX4420NF to Offer Broad Communication Functionality for Mid and Large Workgroups |
| Amstelveen, the Netherlands, April 2005 -- Ricoh Europe B.V. today announced the launch of the company’s latest fax targeting the larger workgroup, the FAX4420NF. Next to professional faxing, this advanced document distribution centre provides fast print and scan, voluminous message storage, user friendly operation and easy monitoring. Its IP fax function means network coverage, and its scan to e-mail means colour documents can be sent as e-mail attachments. |
The Ricoh FAX4420NF is a desktop fax with a 33.6 Kbps modem, 2-second transmission speed, 90 quick dials and 200 speed dials. Standard paper capacity is 350 sheets, maximum 1,350 and the Automatic Document Feeder takes up to 70 sheets. Standard memory is 7 MB (560 pages) upgradeable to 40 MB (2,200 pages). Resolution is an impressive 600 x 600 dpi. Scanning is at a brisk 1.3 seconds and 15 ppm print means incoming faxes are received promptly. By offering IP fax, LAN fax, Internet fax and colour scanning, the FAX4420NF designers have anticipated many of the newest needs of today’s office. ‘Scan to e-mail’ allows scanned colour documents to be sent to PCs as e-mail messages - an asset for fast sharing of hard copy information. One of the key benefits offered by the FAX4420NF, IP faxing, means sending and receiving faxes through systems connected to the network without the need for an e-mail server. The result is a reduction in costs and rise in speed. With increasing user numbers, ease of use is also emphasised. The FAX4420NF is easy to set up, operate and maintain. The straightforward panel, and generous quick and speed dial facilities make operation easy for everyone. Security has been given full attention. Safe document storage is guaranteed, even in case of a power failure. Usage can be controlled by user authentication. Maaike Giling, product manager at Ricoh Europe B.V., explains the hybrid concept of the FAX4420NF: “Ricoh has an outstanding track record in faxing and multifunctional systems. This unit offers a fully equipped workgroup solution. Apart from extensive fax features, we included workgroup printing and scanning capabilities“, she continues. “Advanced functions such as duplex printing and network device monitoring are also included. In line with Ricoh’s policy, the product meets the toughest environmental standards, including Energy Star®. The unit switches off automatically when it is not in use, reducing power consumption to a bare minimum of 6 W.” The Ricoh FAX4420NF is the latest addition to Ricoh's wide range of fax solutions. The company currently manufactures one of the world's most extensive line-ups of copiers, printers, scanners, faxes and multifunctional devices, as well as advanced software solutions.
