Ricoh Aficio™1515 Series - The Compact and Cost Effective Solution to Variable A4 Document Processing Demands

Amstelveen, The Netherlands, May 2004 -- Leading office equipment manufacturer Ricoh today announced the introduction of its Aficio™1515 A4 copier/printer/scanner/fax series. It is targeting the smaller workgroup and divisional operation facing variable document processing demands. The series consists of four pre-configured models: Aficio™1515 is a digital copier, Aficio™1515F adding fax capability and Aficio™1515PS print and scan. Both the Aficio™1515PS and the all-in-one Aficio™1515MF offer impressive network connectivity with advanced communication features such as scan to e-mail. The all-in-one version includes internet faxing and other interesting fax features as well. The Aficio™1515 series offers high productivity, low total cost of ownership and remarkable quality and connectivity.

For stand alone usage, the Aficio™1515 and Aficio™1515F aim to replace 15 cpm analogue and first generation digital copiers with features such as standard duplexing, improved warm up and integration of fax capabilities (Aficio™1515F). For larger operations, the Aficio™1515PS and Aficio™1515MF can be integrated easily into virtually any network. With bundled software tools such as SmartDeviceMonitor™ and Web Image Monitor, the machines can easily be monitored and managed from any PC in the network. Both replace multiple devices thus reducing total cost of ownership (TCO) and improving office efficiency.

Copying of multi paged documents is fast and failure free as sets are automatically fed, scanned once and reproduced from memory as often as required. Uninterrupted copy and print production is assured by a large paper capacity.

The Aficio™1515 series control panels are clear, intuitive and easy to operate. The four line, 27 digit display with its four navigation keys means easy browsing and operation. With its 'scan once, copy many' technology, wear and tear of originals during large jobs is minimised and output quality exceptional.

With a unique transmission speed of only 3 seconds, the Aficio™1515F and Aficio™1515MF fax variants handle heavy fax traffic with ease. Speed dials save yet extra time. Sophisticated features such as LAN fax and PC fax are standard, while the Internet fax function means users can send faxes direct over the corporate network thus reducing the communication costs. To distribute documents from the operation panel to the recipient's PC, the Aficio™1515PS and Aficio™1515MF offer scan to e-mail. User address books can be easily maintained with the web browser and new addresses added and manipulated with the Web Image Monitor.

Following Ricoh's environmental policy, the Aficio™1515 series is designed for minimum environmental impact. Equipped with QSU (quick start up) technology it offers fast energy saving recovery, as well as warm up (15 sec.) and first copy (7.5 sec.) time. Ozone and dust emissions are way below legal limits and duplexing (on both print and copy) saves on paper. Its robust nature means a long active life, and compliance with the Energy Star guidelines reduced environmental loading. The units can be located on the user's desk without noise or space stress.

Jeroen van Beem, product manager at Ricoh Europe B.V. feels designers have put more functionality in the Aficio™1515 series than most similar devices: 'Because multifunctional equipment tends to get heavy treatment from a wide variety of users, the Aficio™1515 series has been made very reliable and extra easy to operate,' he adds confidently.
