RICOH MF820 - All-in-one Desktop workstation for Small Office Workgroups and Professional Home Users

Amstelveen, The Netherlands, June 2004 -- Ricoh Europe B.V. launches the MF820, a compact and powerful multifunctional system combining fax with colour print, copy, and scan functionality. Next to taking care of the user's document needs, this all-in-one system offers easy programming and is among the smallest devices in the small office/home office segment

Compact, easy to use and incorporating colour: the MF820 handles all document processing tasks with the greatest efficiency. With its extremely small footprint and compact design, the MF820 fits into the smallest office space. In addition, operation takes very little time using the handy keyboard.

To facilitate small workgroup and home office communications, the MF820 offers a variety of fax features including a 33.6 Kbps transmission speed. Documents can be fed either through the 10-sheet Automatic Document Feeder or straight from the platen glass, when faxing pages from a book or magazine. To enhance efficiency, the system's directory can hold up to 200 names while recipients can also be programmed for group dialling. Should the system run out of paper or ink, the MF820 safeguards all incoming faxes as up to 50 pages can be stored in memory. Securing confidential information is easy with the memory lock capability: documents will only be printed after you enter the appropriate ID code.

To give documents that professional edge, the MF820 provides users with excellent colour printing, copying and scanning. With a touch of colour, business documents, presentations and reports become much easier to read. No need to invest extra budget and space in a new colour device: the MF820 offers users the ability to create attractive colour output.

Roland Olthoff, Product Manager at Ricoh Europe B.V.: "With the MF820, Ricoh meets the increasing demand for desktop colour stations. The MF820 is one of the slimmest and most user oriented desktop products in the market today," he continues, "In fact, it is designed in such a way that any user can operate and maintain this system."

For creative processing and document management, the MF820 comes with Photo Impression software. This easy to use photo editing program allows the user to edit, enhance, retouch or add special effects to any image with just a couple of clicks. To turn paper into organised digital documents that the user can easily find and use, Paper Port software is available. Also included in the software package is One Touch for quick and fast scanning.

Following the corporate zero waste policy, Ricoh has labelled every part of this device for easy recycling and equipped the MF820 with an efficient power management system for reduced energy consumption.
