| | Amstelveen, The Netherlands, December, 2004 -- Ricoh Europe B.V., the European headquarters of Ricoh Company Ltd., Tokyo, announces the launch of the R1131x Voltage Regulator. Nowadays applications often require multiple supply voltages; new generation processors even demand a low supply voltage, lower than most current LDO's can supply. The new R1131x is a powerful 300 mA LDO, specially designed to be used in combination with new and current processors. It provides a secure and stable supply voltage from a very low input voltage. This particular feature makes R1131x an attractive product on the market of battery-operated applications. |
The R1131x is able to operate in an input voltage range from 1.4 V to 6.0 V. It is very suitable to use the R1131x, for example, in combination with a 1.8 V step down DCDC converter in order to make a second supply voltage. The operating voltage range of most other LDO’s is limited to approximately 2.0 V but the R1131x is specially designed to solve this problem. Any output voltage in a range from 0.8 V to 3.3 V can be selected and is pre-set in our factory (in a 0.1 V step) by laser trimming. Among other features of the newly launched R1131x are: safety countermeasures like current limit / short circuit protection, high ripple rejection for low-noise and an optional auto-discharge function for the output capacitor. The R1131x comes in three different package types: Industry Standard SOT23-5, Small & Thin SON6 and High Wattage HSON6.
