Ricoh R1154x - Voltage Regulator with Ultra Low 5µA Consumption Current and 24V Input Voltage now available in SOT23-5 in addition to SOT89-5

Amstelveen, The Netherlands, August 2004 -- Ricoh Europe B.V., the European headquarters of Ricoh Company Ltd., Tokyo, announces the launch of the R1154N voltage regulator in a SOT23-5 package in addition to the earlier launched R1154H in SOT89-5 package. The Ricoh R1154x meets the demand for a voltage regulator that combines high input voltage range and low consumption current. The Ricoh R1154x features an input voltage range of 24 V, very low supply current of 5 µA and maximum output current of 150 mA. The designer can choose an output capacitor of his preference of minimum 0.1 µF. The R1154x has a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C. The combination of these features makes the R1154x an ideal product for applications used in industries that require high input voltage range and low consumption current such as automotive electronics and security systems.

In order to offer more choice to Ricoh customers, the R1154x now comes in two packages: the newly launched R1154N in an industry standard SOT23-5 in addition to the earlier launched R1154H in SOT89-5 package. The R1154x voltage regulator combines high input voltage range and low consumption current to meet the increasing market demand for creating low power consuming applications. The R1154x has a maximum input voltage of 24 V. The use of CMOS process, as opposed to Bipolar process, allows the R1154x to have a very low supply current of 5 µA and a competitive standby current of 0.1 µA.

Flexibility to the designer is offered by the R1154x's ability to work with any output capacitor, minimum of 0.1 µF. Further, the designer has the possibility for voltage adjustment: fixed types range from 2.5 V to 12 V in 0.1 V steps and adjustable range from 2.5 V to V in. Safety in the application is enhanced with Peak & Short circuit current limit and thermal overload protection. The R1154x's operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C makes the product suitable for a wide range of industrial demands.

The R1154N comes in a small SOT23-5 measuring W 2.8 x L 2.9 x H 1.1 mm and the R1154H in a SOT 89-5 package measuring W 4.5 x L 4.5 x H 1.5 mm.
