Aficio™AP400/AP400N - Cost-effective High Performance Printing to Maximise Productivity

Amstelveen, The Netherlands, September 2003 -- Ricoh Europe B.V. announces the Aficio™AP400/AP400N, monochrome laser printers delivering high performance printing and a competitive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). The Aficio™AP400/AP400N connects to all major networking environments and delivers continuous productivity.

The Aficio™AP400/AP400N models offer a first print speed of 7.5 seconds, ensuring documents are waiting in the delivery tray on collection. The powerful 300 MHz high performance processor delivers high speed full network printing at 25 ppm, for both single and double-sided printing. This rapid processing of documents guarantees users' productivity by minimising waiting time. With outstanding quality at a crisp 1,200 dpi output, these printers print on different paper stocks, making printing on labels, transparencies and envelopes effortless.

Lavesh Lakhina, Ricoh Europe Product Manager believes that, "The Aficio™AP400/AP400N will be a driving force in the major account and tender arena. Both models offer everything the most demanding user would expect from a powerful, fully featured office printer, together with significant cost advantages."

The new Aficio™AP400/AP400N printers combine high performance with a low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). The machines are competitively priced and operational costs are similarly low. The Aficio™AP400/AP400N is designed to considerably reduce printing costs per page. With its standard paper capacity of 500 sheets (maximum: 1,600 sheets) and 15,000-sheet toner yield, even extremely long print runs are completed without interruption. Installation and maintenance are straightforward: users can easily replenish the paper and all-in-one toner themselves.

The Aficio™AP400/AP400N models are expandable and user-friendly. A large choice of user installable options, such as an optional paper feed unit, can be 'clicked' into place without the need for any additional tools. An icon-based interface using Ricoh's printer language, RPCS™, means any print job takes just one click, increasing productivity. The design also incorporates Sample Print™, which helps prevent misprints and therefore controls paper costs. The new PDF Direct Print function allows users to print their PDF files quickly, without the need for spooling.

Both models are fully networkable (the Aficio™AP400N comes with a network interface board pre-installed) and support all major network applications and industry standard printer languages for seamless integration into the office environment. To cope with today's increasingly mobile workplace, the Aficio™AP400/AP400N offer simple and fast set up for peer-to-peer connection through a USB2.0 port for desktop and mobile PCs. The option of using the latest Wireless LAN and Bluetooth technology is also available for hot-desking and cable-free networks.

For enterprise users, the Aficio™AP400/AP400N offers the benefits of remote operation. A built-in web browser interface gives IT managers centralised control to manage networked printers remotely from any desktop, including automatic detection and configuration. Administrators can also receive automatic e-mail alerts indicating the status (e.g. on-line, toner supply, paper supply etc.). Together these capabilities make maintenance more streamlined, improving both workflow and efficiency.
