The Ricoh Group is expanding its business by providing solutions, particularly document management solutions-our main strength-built on a base formed by our strengths in image-processing technologies and the ability to reach the customers whose trust we have built up over time. The structure can be explained using the analogy of a four-story building as an example. The first two tiers of our four-tiered solution structure, i.e., stand-alone and network-capable image-processing devices, are the foundation of our solutions business. By strengthening this foundation, we expand our business domain into printing solutions (Tier 3) and document management solutions (Tier 4) and increase the productivity of our customers' work processes.
Document Solutions Ricoh provides efficient document management solutions by integrating its unique image processing technologies and information and document management technologies. Efficient document management facilitates workflow and helps lower total cost of ownership (TCO) for customers. Printing SolutionsRicoh provides printing environments tailored to each customer's needs and offers solutions including image processing technologies developed for digital multifunctional copiers and printers, software, consulting, and support. Network SystemRicoh has introduced a full range of products that take advantage of our unique digital image processing technology. In 1987, Ricoh marketed the imagio 320, the industry's first digital copier, in response to digital networking needs. And today, Ricoh continues to offer high-performance business equipment to meet the demands of our customers' sophisticated network environments. Stand-Alone EquipmentSince the release of the Ricopy 101 diazo paper copier in 1955, Ricoh has been a leading copier manufacturer, introducing its first plain-paper copier (PPC), the Ricoh PPC900, in 1972 and its first full-color copier, the Ricoh Color 5000, in 1985. |
