Aficio™GX e3300N/GX e3350N - Featuring Ricoh's innovative GelSprinter™ technology

Amstelveen, The Netherlands, May 2009 - Ricoh Europe (Netherlands) B. V. today launched the GX e3300N and GX e3350N, two high-performance colour printers. Their revolutionary GelSprinter™ ECOnomy Color mode yields colour prints at approximately the cost of black and white laser prints. Fast, sturdy and reliable, they are dedicated to low-end business colour workflows. The GX e3300N/GX e3350N are targeted at personal and home offices. They are ideally suited for sharing by small workgroups.

"The GX e3300N and GX e3350N are the third generation of GelSprinters™," explains Linda van der Graaf, Product Manager at Ricoh Europe. "Ricoh's viscous Liquid Gel™ typically yields excellent results on plain or recycled paper. For fast printing of office documents with mixed text and images, the GX e3300N/GX e3350N feature a unique ECOnomy Color mode. Unlike an inkjet's draft mode, this system distinguishes between text and image. It saves on colour gel for the images and it prints the text in crisp, solid black. ECOnomy Color reduces Total Cost of Ownership: colour prints cost virtually the same as black and white."

One of the printers' important characteristics is their productivity. The GX e3300N/GX e3350N's default print speed is 29 pages per minute (ppm) in speed priority mode. Their ISO speeds are 11.7 ppm for full colour prints and 12 ppm in monochrome. Liquid Gel™ does not permeate the paper and the print output does not smudge. Paper is fed and positioned with great accuracy due to the transfer belt system.

The GX e3300N/GX e3350N are easy to use and maintain. Tilting operation panels allow users to read the display while seated. The printers' full front accessibility makes it easy to reload paper and replace cartridges. E-mail alerts inform users when an intervention is required, for example to refill toner or paper. The printers are equipped with a counter function that records pages printed in each mode. Counter information is sent by e-mail. This enables administrators to easily keep track of the printer's use and monitor users' print costs.

Minimal energy consumption and use of the energy saver mode reduce the GX e3300N/GX e3350N's impact on the environment. Operation is clean as GelSprinters(tm) do not emit dust. With duplex units as standard, the devices help to reduce paper consumption by printing on both sides of the page.

The Aficio™GX e3300N and GX e3350N are the latest additions to Ricoh's advanced range of digital office equipment. Ricoh currently manufactures one of the most extensive line-ups of printers, copiers, faxes and multifunctional devices, as well as advanced software solutions.
