AficioTM MP C4502/MP C5502 – Ricoh launches highly productive, cost effective and user-friendly MFPs
Amstelveen, 2 April 2012, Ricoh Europe (Netherlands B.V.) today launched the Aficio™ MP C4502/MP C5502 colour MFPs. Designed for offices with heavy workflows, these devices provide high-speed scanning from the single pass duplex (MP C4502SPDF /MP C5502SPDF models). They also represent outstanding value for money, while incorporating advanced customisation, security and various environmentally responsible features.

The MP C4502/MP C5502 offer a number of efficiency features. An automatic job promoter skips queue-blocking error jobs. Scanned documents can be previewed before transmission, and envelopes can be fed more reliably and printed in higher quality. Ricoh’s @Remote software collects operational data, resulting in more efficient device management and automatic ordering of toner when required.
Both MFPs have been designed to be user-friendly. The tiltable operation panel retains the user’s personal preference and settings, and an integrated USB/SD slot allows for direct printing from an external source.
Professional finishing standards are made possible with 1,000-sheet and 3,000-sheet staple finishers, and a 2,000-sheet booklet finisher is an optional extra. There is also an optional punch unit for 2-, 3-, or 4-hole binder-ready punched documents.
Environmental responsibility is a high priority. A lower recovery time from sleep-mode to operation ensures quicker warm-up. The enhanced (internal) GWNX controller allows for quota settings per user or user group, facilitating tight management of device operational costs. The controller also features an indicator that shows the historical paper output settings preferred by users. This can help to plan more efficient use.
Security is built in from the earliest design stage. Information security is achieved with a Copy Control function that prevents unauthorised document copying. Further safeguarding is assured with enhanced encryption (AES256bi, SHA2), as well as HDD encryption for scanning and hard disk security. Secure scanning to Web Mail via SMTP with encrypted SSL adds another security layer.
