Ricoh grows IT Services Expertise

Acquires German IT Services Company ADA

London, 25 June 2012 - Ricoh Europe Holdings PLC (“Ricoh”) today announced that it has completed the transaction of assets of ADA - Das SystemHaus GmbH (ADA) through Ricoh Deutschland GmbH, its German marketing subsidiary.

ADA is one of Germany’s leading IT Services companies with more than 20 years' experience.  The acquisition is a part of Ricoh’s strengthening of its business service infrastructure, providing businesses around the world with the tools and expertise to optimise business critical document processes and IT Services. Ricoh’s IT Services currently focuses on small and medium businesses, who rely on Ricoh to manage their IT infrastructure.

ADA and Ricoh have a strong strategic fit. Both are already working with many of the same corporations.  By joining forces, these shared clients can enjoy working with one organisation for all their IT and document management needs.  Furthermore, with the additional expertise from the ADA employees, Ricoh can accelerate its IT Service expansion in Germany in the midsize market and provide enhanced offerings to larger enterprises. It also provides Ricoh with the opportunity to expand its expertise across Europe. In addition it supports the growth of Ricoh offerings such as Managed Document Services, IT Services, Document Process Outsourcing and new business lines which will contribute 25% of Ricoh’s global revenues by March 2013. 

Shared values between the two organisations include a commitment to quality management with both achieving ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 and product lifecycle management with ADA’s remarketing programmes and Ricoh’s Total Green Office Solutions. Following the successful acquisition, stakeholders and employees will also benefit from the increased knowledge sharing and best practice of the two companies.

Ricoh Germany has a positive history of mergers. Most recently it acquired Georg Kohl, provider of document process outsourcing, business process outsourcing, direct mailing services and production printing capabilities.   It is also enhances Ricoh’s ability to provide outsourced invoicing services to customers around Europe.

ADA has more than 20 years' experience as an IT service provider.  Its focus is to partner with customers to implement and manage their IT systems.  Services cover all aspects required for the efficient management of a business’s IT infrastructure - from initial conception to final realisation. Its offerings include Remarketing Solutions, Field and Site Services, Service Desk, product evaluation, purchase management and software installation and distribution with project management. Its managed IT services also includes datacenter support, network-, server- and storage services, the implementation of security services and the rollout of groupware solutions.
