Ricoh’s operations in Germany recognised for business excellence
London, 19 November, 2010 – Ricoh Europe, a specialist in office solutions, managed document services, and production printing is pleased to announce that Ricoh Germany has been awarded the prestigious Ludwig-Erhard-Preis for business excellence.
The accomplishment acknowledges the excellent results achieved by doing business the Ricoh way – an approach that combines economical, social and environmental thinking. This management philosophy has enabled Ricoh to excel in the areas of innovation, expertise and sustainability, which are consistently aligned to business growth plans.
The Ludwig-Erhard-Preis is awarded annually to organisations and businesses in Germany that demonstrate sustained excellence and competitiveness. Ricoh Germany was awarded the 2010 prize in the category ‘Large companies with more than 500 employees’ at an awards ceremony on 18 November in Berlin.
The expert jury commented on the commitment of Ricoh Germany’s 2,400 employees to delivering office solutions, production printing and document management services to customers. “In particular, by focusing on customer value and more resource-friendly solutions, Ricoh differentiates itself from the competition,” the jury noted.
“We are delighted at this recognition of Ricoh Germany’s efforts to achieve business excellence and quality management throughout the company. We will continue to systematically improve our business processes with our focus always on our customers”, said Uwe Jungk, CEO, Ricoh Germany. This is the second time Ricoh Germany has been successful in the Ludwig-Erhard-Preis, last year winning second place in the category ‘Large companies with more than 500 employees’. Since 2001, Ricoh Germany has been using the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) model for Business Excellence, and it was awarded ‘Recognised for Excellence’ by the European Foundation for Quality Management in 2006.
The Ludwig-Erhard-Preis is the national quality award for sustainable excellence and competitiveness for businesses and organisations in Germany. It is run under the patronage of the Federal Minister for Economics and Technology with the objective to encourage organisations to use integrated management systems. It has four categories: organisations with up to 15 employees; organisations with between 16 to 100 employees; organisations with 100 to 500 employees; and organisations with over 500 employees.
