Aficio™GX e2600 – Ricoh launches a new cost-efficient colour printer for small offices and personal use
Amstelveen, The Netherlands, May 2010 – Ricoh Europe (Netherlands) B.V. today launched the Aficio™GX e2600, a fast, productive and affordable colour printer. It prints 29 pages per minute, in both colour and B/W. After a short warm-up time, the first colour print is ready in 7 seconds; the first B/W page in 6 seconds. Its revolutionary GelSprinter™ ECOnomy Color mode yields colour prints at approximately the same cost of B/W prints. Power consumption is lower than a comparable laser printer. The GX e2600 is targeted at small offices and personal use.
“The GX e2600 is perfect for fast printing of office documents with mixed text and images,” says Anh Du, Product Manager at Ricoh Europe. “Unlike an inkjet’s draft mode, Ricoh’s unique ECOnomy Color mode distinguishes between text and image. It saves on colour gel for the images and it prints the text in crisp, solid black. ECOnomy Color reduces Total Cost of Ownership: colour prints cost virtually the same as black and white.” The GX e2600 features Ricoh’s unique Liquid Gel™, which produces vibrant, fast-setting colour images. Even on regular plain paper, the results are crisp and sharp. The transfer belt system feeds and positions paper with pinpoint accuracy for optimum results. Prints are smudge-free, waterproof and sun-resistant for many years to come. Ease-of-use is enhanced with the addition of a colour display panel which can be tilted to provide the optimum view. Cartridges can be easily replaced thanks to full front operation. Machine use is tracked with the help of a counter. As with all Ricoh products, the GX e2600 is designed for a low environmental impact. It consumes less than 2 W per hour in energy saver mode, has a short warm-up time, and its operation is clean and quiet. Ricoh has further reduced the device’s environmental impact by using plant-based plastic when manufacturing some parts of its hardware. The Aficio™GX e2600 is the latest addition to Ricoh’s advanced range of digital office equipment.
