Aficio™MP C6501SP/MP C7501SP – Ricoh launches two new multifunctional devices for high colour productivity
Amstelveen, The Netherlands, February 2010 – Ricoh Europe (Netherlands) B.V. today launched the Aficio™MP C6501SP/MP C7501SP, two multifunctionals with printer, scanner and optional fax. Designed to provide high colour productivity and excellent workflow in offices, they offer one-pass duplex scanning and fast print speeds – up to 70 colour and 75 B/W pages per minute. Workflow efficiency is further increased and user-friendliness enhanced with Ricoh’s new App2Me software platform, which allows users to personalise the way they interact with the MFPs. Advanced finishing capabilities are backed up by extensive document protection features.
“At the heart of the MP C6501SP/MP C7501SP is Ricoh’s PxP™ toner and state-of-the-art image processing technology, which ensure excellent registration and perfect colour density,” says Raymond Germers, Senior Product Manager at Ricoh Europe. “They handle a variety of paper types as heavy as 300 g/m² and in sizes up to A3+ (305 mm x 458 mm). Stationery, reports, handouts or flyers can all be produced, stapled, punched, folded and sorted in-house, reducing the need to outsource. Ricoh’s new one-pass duplex scan technology enables 115 colour pages to be scanned per minute.”
The MP C6501SP/MP C7501SP are easy to use, drive and monitor. Their large colour LCD touch screens have a straightforward user interface. Toner and paper replacement are simple tasks, while animated procedures help with rapid troubleshooting. The new icon-based print driver layout is intuitive to use and results in fast job submission. Web Image Monitor enables users to check the machine status, manage jobs and change settings via the web browser.
The MP C6501SP/MP C7501SP are pre-installed with Ricoh’s App2Me software platform, which runs Ricoh Widgets. These single-task software applications are automatically detected by any App2Me ready MFP once they are installed on a connected PC, laptop or compatible smartphone. They allow users to create personalised workflows. Simply pressing the App2Me button displays Widgets on the colour display of the MFP and gives users fast access to the latest tools and applications available. An extensive range of optional finishing equipment is available. They ensure that tasks such as sorting, stapling, punching, folding, booklet making, trimming and ring binding are fast, flexible and cost-efficient.
Ricoh has responded to the increasing importance of security with a number of extra features on these devices. Users can protect their data by erasing temporary information from the hard disk drive. Scan-to-email and scan-to-folder documents sent in PDF files can be encrypted and password-protected to ensure they are read only by the intended recipient. Print jobs can be secured with a PIN code by using Lock Print. The user enters a PIN code with the print job and then again at the printer, to prevent unauthorised personnel from seeing the content. These MFPs are designed to meet the highest security standards and are expected to achieve IEEE 2600.1 certification by August 2010.
As with all Ricoh products, reducing environmental impact is a key factor in research and development. The MP C6501SP/MP C7501SP have fast duplex printing and copying, ultra low sleep mode, short warm-up time and increased toner yield, therefore saving paper, time and energy while also reducing waste and costs.
