Pro™907EX/1107EX and 1357EX – Outstanding B/W production power

Amstelveen, The Netherlands, May 2009 – Ricoh Europe (Netherlands) B.V. today launched its latest black-and-white production printers. The Pro™907EX, 1107EX and 1357EX are three powerful multifunctional devices that offer the widest range of in-line finishing options on the market. They are aimed at reprographic departments of large corporations as well as professional printing environments. Fast, reliable and durable, these engines are built to optimise peak-volume workflows.

“Ricoh has long proven its expertise in providing reliable total solutions,” says Miriam Halabicova, Product Manager at Ricoh Europe. “The Pro™907EX/1107EX/1357EX take care of the operator’s entire workflow, from input to output, in a truly professional way. With reliable new options and effective digital controllers, they can be completely customised to high-volume users’ specific needs. Top image quality, user-friendliness and in-line finishing guarantee complete and cost-efficient solutions for complex jobs.”

The Pro™907EX and 1107EX attain print speeds of 90 and 110 pages per minute (ppm) respectively. At 135 ppm, the Pro™1357EX is the fastest device in the Light Production market. The engines can handle peak volumes of up to 1, 1.5 and 2 million prints per month. Their duplex output is produced at simplex speeds; their standard colour scanners take in 80 originals per minute. Two devices can be connected to reach an impressive 270 ppm copy speed. With up to 9 paper stations, the machines’ maximum capacity is 8,050 sheets. Paper up to SRA3 size for full-bleed A3 printing is accepted. The wide range of supported media includes coated paper and card stock of up to 300 g/m². To ensure smooth processing of pre-printed media, the Pro™907EX/1107EX/1357EX feature a new double feed detection system.

Among the Pro™907EX/1107EX/1357EX’s large portfolio of finishing options are several unique solutions. The affordable new multi-folding unit handles six folding patterns. 2-folding, Z-folding, 3-folding (in and out) and 4-folding (gate and double parallel) all happen at maximum engine speed. The completely automatic ring binder’s innovative technology significantly reduces the traditional workload. The machine punches and ring-binds booklets of up to 100 A4 sheets. Users can now also add an optional decurling unit and purge tray. The decurling unit improves the device’s stacking capacity. If a jam occurs in a peripheral, any paper still in the mainframe is collected in the purge tray. It can easily be removed from there.

New to the Pro™907EX/1107EX/1357EX are the SR5020 booklet finisher and high-capacity stackers. The booklet finisher automatically folds and saddle-stitches booklets of up to 20 sheets. An optional trimmer makes for a truly professional finish by trimming the booklets’ front edge. The stackers, each with a 5,000-sheet capacity, can be combined in tandem.

Books of up to 200 sheets with strong, glued backs are put together in a few clicks with the Perfect Binder. Cover page insertion and three-edge trimming are standard. With the double cover interposer, full colour or pre-printed front and back covers can be added. For more basic document types, users can opt for a robust 3,000-sheet finisher with 100-sheet stapler.

Versatile and all-encompassing in their solutions, the Pro™907EX, 1107EX and 1357EX are also reliable and straightforward in use. Maintenance can be performed by trained operators to ensure maximum uptime. The machines’ extensive features are easily accessible, even to inexperienced users. This is due to their large colour operation displays and intuitive interface.

The Pro™907EX/1107EX/1357EX are the latest additions to Ricoh's new Pro™ range of professional digital production equipment. The Pro™ line caters to the quality, speed, reliability and finishing needs of printing professionals. Ricoh currently manufactures one of the world’s most extensive line-ups of printers, copiers, faxes and multifunctional devices, as well as advanced software solutions.
