In 1975, Ricoh became the first company in the office automation industry to win the Deming Prize, given to outstanding companies that establish strict quality control systems.

In addition, a number of our domestic and overseas production sites have obtained ISO9000-series certification, an internationally recognised standard for quality control. In 1985, our RINKS integrated production management system won the Okochi Memorial Production Award and our global production systems are beginning to bear fruit.

The Ricoh Group has established a global production system enabling products to be produced according to the technical skill and productivity of each site. This reduces Carbon Footprint and also utilises local abilities.

Internal Kitting Shortens Lead Time, Reduces Environmental Impact

To shorten lead times from order taking to delivery, we introduced an internal kitting method for efficient packing and delivery; optional devices are attached at the factory and specifications are changed accordingly. Instead of using cardboard boxes and polystyrene foam, reusable racks are utilised for delivery. In addition to reduced environmental impact, this method helps reduce lead time and enhances customer satisfaction.

The Best Business Partners for Excellent Products

Producing highly cost-competitive products requires excellent partners. Accordingly, we have actively encouraged our partner companies to acquire ISO14001 certification, an international standard for environmental management systems. As a result, all of our global partner companies have acquired certification. In addition, efforts are being made for the global development of a procurement system to cope with European environmental regulations.
