Corporate Social Responsibility

Serious About Change

Social Responsibility has been high on our agenda from our inception. Our founder, Kiyoshi Ichimura, was as passionate about social and environmental sustainability as he was about technological innovation. In 2003, we were the first Japanese company to launch a dedicated CSR Division.

Today, we ensure the Group assumes a global social responsibility, making certain our activities respect the culture and customs of the countries in which we operate.

Ricoh joins the UN Global Compact

In April 2002, Ricoh Company, Ltd. became the 2nd company in Japan to sign up to UN Global Compact, a voluntary corporate initiative containing ten guiding principles ranging from the environment to labour practices and human rights. Participation is restricted to businesses serious about their commitment to implementing the Compact’s principles and underlines our dedication “to advance responsible corporate citizenship so that business can be part of the solution to the challenges of globalisation.” Over 1600 leading corporations from the US, Europe and Japan are now practicing members.

Ricoh Group Sustainability Report (Corporate Social Responsibility) 2008

The ‘Ricoh Group Sustainability Report’ introduces and fully explains our CSR policy and its importance. It also demonstrates the whole Group’s integrity in its corporate activities through a series of case studies, examples and global initiatives.

We have defined our CSR Charter and Code of Conduct to support the principles defined in the UN Global Compact.

Ricoh Group CSR Charter

The ‘Ricoh Group CSR Charter’ comprises the corporate activity principles that have been established to implement Corporate Social Responsibility when we develop company activity globally.

Ricoh Group Code of Conduct

The ‘Ricoh Group Code of Conduct’ defines the standards and behaviours that must be observed by all Ricoh Group members.
